FAQs about In-Person Therapy

We are located in the historic district of Newburgh, NY, close to the waterfront!
Our office is in the modern/industrial Wireworks building. The building hosts other wellness professionals including mental health therapists, acupuncturists and doulas.
Our office is spacious, bright and cozy and we offer beverages and snacks upon request

Our therapists each have their specialties and we can determine what and who will be best for you during our free 20 minute consultation.

This is depending on your goals!
If you want and have the time for talk therapy, are new to therapy, or have a current life stressor that you want to take your time with, we recommend weekly therapy sessions for at least 12 weeks.
If you are seeking immediate relief and do not have time for weekly therapy or don’t want to spend several months/years in therapy, then a therapy intensive is right for you.

We will use part of the free 20 min consult to understand your situation and to provided you with an idea about which direction we think would help you to reach your goals.
Whether you are looking for talk therapy or therapy intensives, we will utilize evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT and mindfulness.

Processing basically means to digest something that has happened or is happening to you.
We are skilled at applying psycho-education to you to help you better understand some of the workings behind the way the brain and body respond and react to stressors, crises and traumas.
We will then guide you through your own way of conceptualizing and understanding your unique experience, increasing your resilience in intentionally tolerating any unknowns and in an empowered way, accepting truths that were once difficult to even think about.
